Case's picture sits on the desktop of my computer. For a while Case loved to look at that baby and he had the best conversations with him. It was hysterical...he'd just stare at the picture and talk to it. I caught this video of him right after he ate and him talking to the baby is only part of the funny stuff that happens. He lets out a nice manly burp about halfway through followed by filling his drawers at the end. He's so silly and keeps me very well entertained! Enjoy...

Case Almost 6 Months!
I know I'm like the world's worst blogger at this point. I think of so much that I want to blog about but it always seems so exhausting in my head that it never makes it from there to the keyboard and onto my blog. When will technology advance enough that I can just think it and it will appear on the screen? I'm sure the day is coming!
So at 7 weeks Case started rolling from his tummy to his back. I am pretty sure this was just a ploy to get out of tummy time but he did it pretty consistently nonetheless. Then a few weeks later he quit. There was no more rolling and no new milestones other than that of eating more and more.
He went on his first zoo trip on February 18, 2010. He LOVED the fish aquarium but wasn't quite as fond of the dolphins talking to each other. Here's a pic of Case's first trip to the zoo...
He did start giggling at about 3.5 months but it was a rare occasion and mommy never seemed to be the one to make it happen. It was usually only just one or two giggles that would make it out because he almost always gets the hiccups as soon as he starts giggling. Those giggles come at a high price because his hiccups last for at least 20 minutes usually. This is also about the time he fell in love with his daddy. The way Case lights up when Wayne gets home from work is just too cute, which I am saying through complete jealousy because I don't typically get the same "welcome home!".
He did finally start rolling from his belly to his back again at about 3.5 months but it wasn't consistent. It's pretty consistent now. That's usually how he wakes himself up in the morning. Once he's rolled over we know the sleeping thing is all over!
I think the biggest milestone has been that he is not sitting up on his own. It is just so funny how quickly these things happen. On Wednesday 3/31/10 at Baby Jam (more to come about this later) he was not sitting up on his own. On Good Friday, 4/2/10, Wayne was off so we decided to take Case to the IMA for some pictures in his Easter outfit. I had Case sit him down on the grass and he was going to quickly pull his hand away, while I snapped the picture but when he pulled his hand away Case didn't fall over. Just that quick he was sitting up. Here's the picture where it all happened...
Eating is something else that he's VERY gifted at. He's been eating an 8 ounce bottle since the end of February. I got nervous when that happened because I wasn't sure what to do next. 8 ounces is all those bottles hold so I started to think we were going to have to double fist it but he's maintained at 8 ounces. The pediatrician told us to give him some rice cereal so he had his first experience with that on 2/15/10. It was a mess!!! He has to put his hands in his mouth with the cereal in order to swallow it. Here's what Case looked like during that feeding...
The mess was a little more than I could handle so on bath nights I timed his rice cereal feedings to be while he was in the tub. I figured that way I could just hose him off and then...no mess! So here is a pic of Case eating in the tub...
He's just changing SO fast! So rolling belly to back, giggling, sitting up, eating like a madman and responding to his surroundings are all the things you've missed during my blogging hiatus. I'm going to try better to keep up.
